Citius, Altius, Fortius!

As part of a new year's resolution to reverse the inertia of our bodies' decline, we, some of the grandsons of Douglas F. Prince, have created the Prince Olympics. On the Thursday before the Blood Gathering (September 3, 2009) participants will compete in five events: Bench Press, Squat, 1600M run, 100M run & Pullup. The committed participants so far are Lee Prince, John Douglas Prince, & Doug Prince. More details about judging standards and scoring will be forthcoming in later posts.

To aid in accountability and motivation, I will be posting my exercise and diet routine in the comments section, daily. Other participants should feel free to do the same.

  1. Today I started off with the intention of testing my 1600 time. Instead I ended up running two 400m efforts at 1:42 & 1:47. I finished with some pullups. I will be following the Zone Diet during the year and also giving up meat and poultry (but still sticking with fish, eggs & dairy).

  2. I had posted the workout that I was going to do later today but my brother, the administrator of this blog, informed me that I shouldn't post things that I am going to do....only things that I have already done :)

  5. Since I married into the family, I'm not exactly 'of the blood'. Even so, I'd love to compete for the fun of it. Since I don't really count, I know that no one would take my suggestion to eliminate the bench press in favor of 100 burpees for time, but I figure it's worth a shot. Anyway...

    400m times 1-1-09 1:17 and 1:22.

Catch me if you can, fellas! ;-)

  6. Of course Sifu Whit can compete. That just means that the rest of us will be in the special olympics.

  7. I am glad that I stumbled upon this... I look forward to reading about your progress. Too bad you aren't doing a weight loss goal--I think I'd have you all beat depending on the weigh in and out times.
